Buggy firmware buggy app
$300 dollars worth of bugs. Each firmware update since launch has been a headache. Now their own app doesn't connect and support says there are no issues. I have 4 devices and nothing works now. Yes I have unpaired, reset, charged my battery, rebooted devices. The iOS 5 devices do not fully connect to the drone and the wifi indicator spins and spins trying to connect. 3rd party remote apps connect to the drone though I am concerned with connection stability. I have already had my drone flip due to a bug in the firmware screwing the motors up. There is either an issues how the drone communicated with the iPhone or the ar drone parrot app has some sort of issues with the intermittent wifi connect that is being made. There is a problem and people are reporting it on their forums also.
Great app/product
I have read most of the negative reviews on this product and my opinion was skeptical before I bought it, but I am very pleased with the product. The app works great, but the video is horrible, and the wifi connects seamlessly, except for the fact that the indicator always rotates, and it is very fun. I have not taken the product outside, and am afraid to due to the possibility of randomly taking off. But all in all I am relatively pleased...just buy extra batteries, the stock battery is terrible.
AR BAD DRONE
I am a person that has many RC-multiple channel devises. But for some reason this one is the only one that broke in the first flight. At the store I was told that all you have to do is hit the launch button and it ""hovers""!! not so. Unlike in the store when I hit the launch button the drone did have the update, but it flip instantly over and broke a gear. I went to change the SDK -cotter-pin and it went flying off somewhere. This is with the AR tool kit. This thing should automatically come with an extra gear and cotter-pins it's not like I paid $100.00. even at the mall when you but the 3 channel toys extras come in the box. I am scene repaired the gear the super glue and customized a new clamp to hold the blade down.
1. The best way to fly this thing is in a room with at least 15x10 when it comes off the ground it does not just hover but may zoom to the left or right or back or forward.
2. Keep your control thump on the pad after you hit trim flat first.
The second you think this drone is going the wrong way it is.
3. Hit the emergency or land QUICK !!!!
4. Great toy but could use a little bit more up fancy for the $
