Description
“Telltale really did a fantastic job with the look and feel of Wallace & Gromit” -IGN
"Anyone looking for a fun-filled, zany adventure should look no further … animation is top notch, nailing the look and feel of the Wallace and Gromit short films." -Family Friendly Gaming
"Everything about Last Resort feels authentic. Voice acting is superb, production values are extremely high, and the pace is wonderfully assembled. Telltale games has done a wonderful job of recreating the simple clay-mation style of the films." -Blast Magazine
"As soon as you load up ‘The Last Resort’ you’ll notice that the presentation is spot on to the much loved Aardman Animation classics. Customer Reviews
had great time playing with sons
really fun to play with kids. they love the movies and wanted new ones. this is just like their movies, and we get to play along! highly recommend.
Excellent!
This is like playing a Wallace and Gromit film! Really cool puzzles and voices. This is one of the most impressive iPad games I've seen!
Yaaay!!!
Buy this! Telltale games are great!!
EDIT2: Why is this listed for kids? Am I just a tiny child at heart? I'm 29 and enjoying this game.
EDIT: The above was not really helpful, clearly. I was just overly excited.
Anyhow . . . I'm only on chapter two, but I already can very highly recommend it. I'm really not even a fan of Wallace and Gromit at all. I find the animations normally boring, but the game is fantastic. I'm really just a fan of telltale's games. So, the question of course is should YOU buy it.
*If you've played any other telltale games, you know what to expect and it's all delivered here. Great animations, engaging story, and not too difficult but fun puzzles. I've played the first season of Strong Bad's .. game .. and the first season of Sam & Max (plus the one iPad release). If you like any of their other games you won't be disappointed. Go ahead and buy this!
*If you bought Sam & Max in the penal zone for the iPad and are worried about the same poor performance and bugginess, rest assured, they've clearly been working on their engine. The load times can be slightly long at time, but not too bad. The graphics look significantly better than Sam&Max. They're a lot less grainy and much more impressive. Less general choppiness. So far, no annoying audio glitches and I haven't crashed yet. I would still recommend rebooting your iPad before playing since Safari/Mail/iPod/Phone apps will remain in the background and eat up RAM if you have them running. It can occasionally feel not so responsive when trying to select items to interact with, but it's not too pad. Feel reassured and you should buy it too!
*If you've played old school adventure games and always found them insanely random and hard? Rest assured, most of the puzzles in Telltale's episodic games are SIGNIFICANTLY more sensical. I only very rarely have to look at a walkthrough because a puzzle has an odd solution. I was playing Simon the Sorceror for the first time, and I swear I have to go to a walkthrough every 5 minutes. So, if you're worried about adventure games being too difficult, rest assured and buy this delightful game!
That is all.. Please support Telltale and buy this game! They must release more!! Also, if you like this game and are hankering for some more adventure games (assuming you don't mind some vulgarity) go buy Hector for the iPhone (It actually looks really good at 2x), too. It's extremely lewd and disgusting, but it's really a great game.
If I think of anything else I'll edit this review. I'm constantly amazed at how wonderful an intimate device like the iPad is for this genre. Great to sit on the couch and play while my wife is watching something I'm not interested in on the television. =)
