I bought this app to use when giving live public talks/sermons. It works and is cleaner than flipping multiple pages of paper. I used it once so far and since then there has has been an update. There was much trial and error preparing the first talk on Prompterous to get the speed matched to my comfort.
The best speed was obtained by reducing the number of characters per line through using a large font size (67) then setting the TelePrompter speed level to 2. The large font provides more speed variation options.
Getting documents into Prompterous is easy using DROP BOX.

Could Be Better
I've been professionally speaking for ten years.. Usually in front of groups of 100 but at times upwards of 6000. The app seems very simple which I like. An as a user with vision problems the font selection and size and Bold features are fantastic.
HERE'S what I don't like. I strive to engage my audience and this requires me to be flexable.. Now I understand that your typical teleprompter doesn't allow fora a lot of that but I'd like to be able to get rid of the Line Highlighter. One it makes it harder to see my surrounding notes. Especially being that I don't have very good eyes. Sometimes a linear format has to be switched up… do to timing etc. Which again I know is not exactly the way a prompter works. But if I just didn't have that line highlighter it messes with me a bit. some variability in the size of the Clock would be nice too.
Overall Nice app.. Like to see some more features. For example I'm sure Teleprompters are barebones but I doubt that's because of design… For example in my speaking I often Use underlining and other Notes to tell me I need to go to a demonstration or QA etc. Hard to do with bare Text.. Not impossible mind you but.. I'd like to be able to underline or change a font color if I needed. I guess I have to be careful cause I'm getting into full WordProcessor Land.
