OpenFeint

OpenFeint is a widely adopted service that provides:
1) Leaderboards
2) Achievements (there are over 40 you can unlock in Ra!)
3) Turn-based (asynchronous) online multiplayer play
You'll need to create a free OpenFeint account (you'll be prompted to do this the first time you run the new version) and then you will be able to challenge other OpenFeint players to play Ra online with you (an internet connection is required, of course.)
Once OpenFeint is enabled, playing solo, local multiplayer, or online multiplayer will allow you to unlock the achievements which range from the very simple (win an auction with a full tile track) to Herculean tasks (score 15 Pharaohs.) You will also post your score and ELO rating to the online leaderboards when completing a game.

Online limited to two humans
Several friends and I purchased this game to play online together because the app description advertises 2-5 players and asynchronous multiplayer. As it turns out, online play is limited to two humans and up to three AI opponents. There is no way for more than two humans to play together online. Nothing in the description would suggest that this limitation exists. Very disappointing.
Well could be better by removing the moving sand
Why do these developers think it is so cute to put in animation? The moving wind sand ruins this game. It is cute about the first 15 seconds after that very distracting. The same problem with another Knizia's game Through the Desert. The animation in that one is worst covering up the board game. I will not play that one because of it. Here is a clue to developers, game board people want a game board experience, not a video game. Add AI players, dump the crappy music, cute animation add ons.
RA!! Pretty good version
I am playing this on an iPod touch 4g and it is pretty fun. Not the most intuitive interface but you get used to it. The background in the tutorial makes reading difficult. Play is smooth and without major annoyances IF you turn off the onslaught of message boxes in the options screen. I own the board game too but have not gotten it to the table yet so this app also served as a great tutorial for the board version that is so highly acclaimed.
