Not iWeb

Look, I understand that building a website is not an easy thing, but iWeb made it easy, and personally I felt iWeb made sense. I recently bought Rapidweaver in hopes of replacing iWeb (seeing as Apple no longer offers it) and was extremely perplexed by the level of difficulty I had figuring it out. I still barely understand it and find that coding is extremely confusing. Basically, if you're looking for an iWeb replacement, don't buy this, it's much more difficult and very confusing, plus you have to pay for almost everything you want to change or add on.
On the other hand, if you are willing to learn the processes of creating the sites, it is very rewarding. Some sites that are created with Rapidweaver look outstanding and far outperform Apple's iWeb. You can purchase custom themes and change virtually everything to fit what you want the site to look like. You can also purchase add ons like Blocks and get an iWeb-esque sort of building experience.
I refuse to rate this product on my own ability, instead I'm rating it on its potential and success which is why I'm giving it a four.

Perfect for me

I've been using RapidWeaver for almost a year now and really like it. IWeb was way too limiting, but being a novice at web design, I needed something above pure coding, too. I found RapidWeaver the perfect solution. You can design something ridiculously simple with the built-in templates, or go all out with any add-on that you can think of. It's really limitless. Honestly, I was surprised by all the negative reviews. That said, I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 because it does seem to get shaky at times. It's never really crashed on me, but I'm careful to really back everything up because I'm that worried that it will sometimes. Usually a re-boot gets things back in order, but it's still a worry. I suppose that's the downside of all the 3rd party add-ons - sometimes they may not all work together that well. All in all, definitely worth the $$, and I enjoy using it so much I'm always trying to come up with excuses to build another site!

A Buggy Mess that Crashes on Lion

I have been using Rapidweaver for several years, and it worked pretty well until Lion came along. It crashes repeatedly, despite the fact that I have a latest version MacPro and iMac with 8 GB of RAM. I don't know why they can't figure out how to make this program work on Lion. If you plan on uploading anything other than a website with a few pages, forget it for now. My problem is that I am so invested in this software now, it would be a monumental effort to switch over to something else. Don't get yourself stuck in this mess until they figure out the bugs.
