Description
Advanced shouldn’t mean complicated. Ambur comes from a team of former restaurant owners and employees, who built a point of sale they wanted to use. You’ll love it from the second you start using it. There are no monthly fees, or mandatory fees for setup, support, or hosting. It’s a simple one-time purchase that grows with you – you can use an unlimited number of devices with it. Questions on how to optimize your setup? We’re always here for you, available to answer any questions you have.
Ambur is used everywhere, from food trucks to banquet halls. No matter your needs, Ambur will fit them. Run payroll, generate analysis spreadsheets, view order history for a customer, and customize it to how you want your business to function. You won’t have to read a manual to figure out how to add a menu item, and you won’t need to log into a website on a PC to change settings. With Ambur, everything is just a tap away.
Set Ambur up on one device, and other devices can link to it wirelessly. Save time, increase table turnover, and improve guest satisfaction by giving your employees iPods. They can share information about your menu with guests, send orders to the kitchen, process credit cards, print receipts. All wirelessly, from the palm of their hand. There’s no Internet connection required, so you don’t have to worry about outages or slow speed disrupting your business.

Customer Reviews
Still young
This is a very nice app with lots of features that any restaurant would appreciate. The publisher and its developers are extremely responsive to inquiries and are very helpful with their answers. However, the app as currently designed seems more focused on server efficiencies at the expense of management reporting and it is clearly immature, i.e. it is still evolving and a few functions that may be considered critical to some dining establishments are missing. Just two of several examples:
- Inventory cannot yet be tracked at an appropriately granular level. You can assign an inventory level and a cost for, let's say, a burger, but cannot include additions thereto such as cheese, tomato, bacon, etc. (actually, there is a way to do it, but it would be way too laborious for a server).
- There is no provision for "payouts," e.g. cash given to servers at the end of their shift for tips charged to credit crds. Therefore, there is no simple way to track and reconcile cash in the drawer at the end of the day.
My dialog with the developers suggests that they are working on enhancements that may eventually address the current shortcomings, so we are proceeding with a purchase of the full $1000 production version with our fingers crossed.
