Believe the Hype!
I was very skeptical of paying for my email program, but Lion Mail LITERALLY ground my computer to a halt. We're talking a fairly recent iMac with 8 GB of RAM. Not exactly anything to sneeze at. I have 3 email accounts (1 @me and 2 Gmail-Based.)
So, I tried out Sparrow, and it really is the most intuitive, well-designed Mac program I've come across in some time. It does everything I need, and now with Dropbox file uploading - this is MASSIVE!
That alone solves the biggest problem with email. EVER! DONE!
And it looks and feels great doing it.
If you haven't purchased this program, do it - you're computer will thank you...
SPARROW IS STILL FULL OF WIN
New 1.5 version: With remote image blocking (and general IMAP support), Sparrow is now 100% feature-complete for me. I will never use any other mail client again. It has every feature and option I need. Gush gush gush. It's a beautiful piece of software!
Using Google's web UI is like working in a coal mine. Using Sparrow is like working in a clean, well-lit office where every new hire gets a free MacBook Air and there's an on-site masseuse.
CPU Hog, no undo
Sparrow, oh how I love thee. Since getting rid of Flash, I've needed an app that will make sure my MBP's fans still work. You are just the app! You always run 20%+ CPU, even when idling in my dock - and I appreciate it. So does my electricity bill.
And in case that wasn't enough, I love how you are the only modern app to do something as basic as email, and not allow an undo action. Awesome! I've always wanted to be punished for a missed drag-and-drop, and now you're here to help me "learn" to not be wasteful or inaccurate in my scrolling or keyboard shortcutting!
