Inverse Tower Defense and a Lot of Fun!
I don't understand why someone would spend money on something without knowing what it is or if they can run it— $10 is a really good price, but $10 is still $10. Do yourself a favor and click the 'More...' link at least if you don't want to visit 11 bit Studio's website and watch the explanatory videos.
I can best describe the game as an inverse tower defense game. You're guiding your forces through streets where alien gun turrets are set up to ambush you and your units. Your avatar cannot attack. You set up the path for your units to take, which, depending on the situation, may have to be changed at a moment's notice, and proactively collect defense drops which allow you to repair your units and set up smoke screens. On-the-fly you can purchase, sell, reposition and upgrade units- the interface to do so is a lot easier to utilize than I initially thought it would be.
The graphics are really good– no, REALLY good. After a few levels of this game I was left looking forward to playing a lot more of this game!

Please do your homework, make sure you can run it and have fun! I look forward to some more cool stuff from that studio!
Peace!
Meh
The graphics are impressive, the voice acting is cheesy but tolerable, and even though there's a slow learning curve before you can truly utilize a wider array of tools, it's a pretty fun game.
That being said, it really seems like all the problems are repetetive, and there's really only a couple of viable solutions, so it often feels like you're basically on a set of train tracks with no real options to solve problems your own way with your own style.
In addition the way the controls work make me think that this game would really benefit from being ported onto the iPad. The size of the game, the bird's-eye layout, all would be better served with a touch-screen interface on a portable system.
Really liking this game...but it makes my mac work HARD!
Never had a game that caused my Mac Pro to heat up and spin up all the fans as fast or hard as this game does. I have no idea why because while it looks quite nice I would not say the graphics are ground breaking. FWIW I have a 8-Core Mac Pro with a 8800GT card installed. Be interested to know if this is just me or a universal thing. I am running it full screen which is 1920x1200 (I think) and have the graphics cranked all the way up.
That said, the game is a lot of fun so far. I'm on the 5th level and the toughness is getting steadily harder which is nice. You can make the gameplay casual or you can make it frantic so it should suit a lot of gaming preferences and styles. For now I'm more of a casual style player but I can see myself going back and replaying the levels. It's that kind of game where replayablity is definately there.
Bottom-line, if your mac meets the specs this is a no brainer for $7.
