A bit of a step backwards for the series
The original Nick Chase was one of favorites from Big Fish and I bought it and played through it on the iPhone and iPad. It had nice production values and did a good job of making its hidden object sections unique from most games of that genre. I also loved the voice of Nick Chase. All of that is gone from the new game in the series. It is still a good game, but lacks voice acting and the polish of the original. The hidden object sections also fall back on the old standby of giving you a list of random junk to look for and I admired the original for avoiding this.
The art style is the same overall and I enjoyed the puzzles so I would still recommend this for Hidden Object and Adventure game fans. Just know the the high production values of the original are not well represented in the sequel.
Why did you remove the voices?!
I was shocked to my core when I started playing. Why did you guys remove the voices? The game has definitely lost its essence without the voices specially Nick's voice made all the difference to the way I felt about this game. I spent 5.99 or 4.99 (I can't remember) buying the first version, and I only spent 0.99 byuing this one, but let me tell you, I'm much more satisfied with the first one than I'm with this one depite paying 5 times more. There's also something wrong with the performance. The game is pretty slow which drives me crazy!!!
A Let Down
Have you played the first version of this game? If so you will definitely be disappointed in this sequel! There is no voice over narration, obviously they tried to save expenses, but it sure ruins the aire of what once was a very unique game scenario. Sound effects are lame, game response to touch is poor. Ugh. I would not recommend this game unless you get it for $.99. I would recommend the first game in this series though, but if you do play it, do NOT get hooked into playing this second game in the series. It is a shell with no filling.
