Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions has arrived for iPhone/iPod touch!
Released as the Final Fantasy series' first tactical RPG in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics on Playstation went on to sell over 2.4 million copies worldwide. The game grew in popularity upon its re-release in 2007 as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the PSP with added features such as new movies, scenarios and Jobs.
Now, in 2011 the game has finally arrived for the iPhone/iPod touch! You can enjoy the game whose story gave life to the world of Ivalice, and whose high strategy battles bring tactical games to a whole new level.

- Intuitive Touch Screen Controls
The complex tactical game can be effortlessly and intuitively controlled by simply tapping units and menus. Gone is the old method of switching fixed map views - you can now rotate, move and change the size of maps as you please by sliding and pinching.
- Improved Loading Times
Loading times have been improved to get you into the action quicker than ever. What's more, you can even skip certain cut scenes.
- Optimized Graphics
Graphics have been adapted for optimal performance on iPhone/iPod touch screens.

The new edition of the game is even better than the original, too bad they stripped down the multiplayer from the psp version, could be the killer feature with Game Center.
The interface lacks some polish but works. Still clunky to touch menus. Hope the promised updates, HiRes sprites and the fast forward enemy turn, are coming soon, they're two great additions. Anyway having a great game like this on iOS is simply wonderful.
Now Square give us the new edition of Tactics Ogre, which rocks even more!!
Good, with some reservations...
FFT is one of my favorite games ever. Having it in an iPhone app is phenomenal. That being said, for a game that EXCLUSIVELY uses precise controls (i.e. game is entirely controlled by menus), the controls are about 50% as good as they should be. A virtual d-pad would have been a MUCH better addition.
Completely fixed on my end.
All the client side issues I was having when I wrote my first review, the crashing to home screen, making me start a new game, etc. are gone with the last 2 updates. I can now play the same game through to completion and for your diligence and hard work on patching and not forgetting about this title, I award you 5 stars for a great port of tactics and great follow through. Thanks a lot guys!
