Worth it for the original alone
Note about the original version: It is almost unplayable of the iPhone/iPod. But I don't really care much as its still the original on my phone. In a warped way it just adds to how frustrating this game was to me back in the mid 80's.
Sitting around rerolling on stats for a half hour took me back and is worth the price of admission alone in a perverse way.
The in game map tuts don't seem to be loading. Which again is frustrating as Skara is hard to navigate and theres no easy way to save when your lost. Trying to switch to look at a map online will reboot the game and all progress is lost.
But it's a dead on port. You'll still die quickly at the start if you aren't careful, lucky, and save often. It's still frustratingly fun to play.
So much content!
This isn't a dinky, one-trick "iPhone game" where you can see everything there is to see after a few minutes of gameplay.
No sir-ee!!
Bards Tale is a lengthy and charmingly funny, full-fledged RPG!! I was a little skeptical at first since the original Bards Tale for Commodore 64 was nothing like this, but it stands it's own in this new style.
For this price, it's a steal!
Love it!
Love the game and the fact that it includes the originals.
