Description

It's difficult to organize digital pictures and videos when they are taken with different cameras by different people.
Every digital camera brand uses different convention for naming its files: as an example, Sony® names the pictures "DSC000xxx", Canon® instead uses "IMG_000xxx".
If the files are moved to a PC using a USB Pen Drive or a CD-ROM, they lose the original creation date and, consequently, it's going to be difficult to sort the pictures in chronological order, especially if they were shot by different cameras on the same day.

iSortPhoto is a useful utility that solves these kind of problems quickly and easily.
You only need to Drag & Drop your pictures and videos, or a folder containing them, to rename the files with the date and time they were shot. You can also decide to keep the original name as a suffix or add additional words to the file name. Using iSortPhoto you will be able to keep your pictures and videos in chronological order, ready to be used for a presentation or just to be archived for easy retrieval.

It's also possible to correct errors in the capture date if the camera clock was set incorrectly, for example because of wrong daylight saving settings.

Very nice app, wish had more features

Simple to use and does it's job. There are a few features I think could be useful:

- Option for sorting the pictures into new folders based on the date they were taken. For example, sort into folders by Year>Month or Year>Month>Day. That could be useful for sorting pictures collected from different cameras.

- Do not rename files already sorted by the app previously, to handle the situation of the user running the same files through the app aain (yes, that can happen).

- There's a message that photos with no timestamp in Exif data will not be sorted - might be nice to be able to get a list of roblematic files/fodlers so that they can be treated manually.

One of the Best Apps

This app does exactly what it says. I organized over 30, 000 pictures lightening fast. I was able to sort them and change the name of each photo to how I wanted. Worth the money and glad I purchased it. Trust me, I tried almost all on the app store and this was the easiest. I also recently had a question and reached out to the developer and he responded within the hour and was very helpful. If your wondering if you should buy this app, I would say don't hestitate!
Note: I would love to see a deduplicating feature added to this app. That's the only thing it's missing.

The Solution

I spent a few minutes on Google trying to figure out different automator actions and tricks to figure out how to sort images by Content Creation date sourced from two different cameras, and failed, miserably! I then chanced upon this App and am happy I bought it. It is definitely worth the money since it does exactly what it advertises, renames your photos by sorting them according to content creation date. This app is awesome.
