Compiles and easy to use

It’s very functional, one minor annoyance is having to tap “Done” every time I want to compile — would be nice if that option were available always. (I’m using my ipad with a keyboard).

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your report. You don't have to press "Done". If you use a keyboard just use the hotkey ctrl + g to generate a PDF. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.

Very straightforward

This is a rather simple GUI very similar to most latex editors and it clearly denotes special words in different colors so debugging is very easy and the experience is very similar to that of a pc. The documents appear to compile fast to a pdf even though they it must be near impossible to compile as fast on an iOS device as a pc. The group of creators appear to be members of the open source community and their terms/conditions are less than two pages in clear English. They take no responsibility for fault but are not making a penny from us and are offering an identical way to compile pdf’s when your notebook or desktop is out of reach but you have your phone handy. 5/5 would recommend to anyone who typesets in Tex and owns an iPhone with a little free space because this app is a godsend and operates exactly as you would hope.

Zero support for local file management = limited uses

Response to Dev: I do not have a Mac and moving Tex files between iPad and computer is tedious anyway. The app has no native support for the “Files” app in iOS. Enabling that would open a world of possibilities up.

—- original review below —-

I cannot use this app which forces me into Dropbox or Box (neither of which I use nor want to use) for cloud synchronizing options.

The “local” mode puts files in some unknown location on my iPad rather than allowing me to select a location through iOS’s native Files app. If that was enabled, I could at least point to my Nextcloud cloud sync folder and have more flexibility in where files are stored.

Another further limitation of the local mode is I can’t immediately tell how projects are saved. And since I cannot import any existing project and don’t have to time to create something from scratch, I’m left frustrated trying to setup this app for production.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your report. As mentioned in our previous reply you can manage your files in the project list using the native Files app (as you requested). You can also import and export projects using the Finder on your Mac or you can do it manually in the app by pressing the Manage button in the project list. The Local Mode puts your files in your App folder (which exists for all kind of apps). You can enable auto save in Local Mode (saves when generating a PDF) or press Save manually of course. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.
