Fast and efficient
This app has helped me greatly. I learned hiragana enough to read slowly and confidently in a matter of days, and katakana almost as quickly. Not sure why some other reviews are knocking this. The UI is easy to understand. Tap and get it right and it turns green. Tap and get it wrong and it will show the correct answer. Go through at your own pace, and learn characters that even your friends don't know yet (we, wi). This has been my bible, I can only hope kanji is covered next by this developer.
Don't waste your money
Horrible UI and usability.
1. When displaying kana table we get TINY characters, wherea 2/3 of screen real estate remains empty (just take a look at the last screenshot).
2. The quiz always starts with the tapped character, no random seed.
3. No quiz setup, no character group selection... Nothing.
Awful, just awful.
