Landscape view glitch

Update: yes downloading the newest version fixed it for me thank you! And knowing that I can tap farther over and not just on the words is very helpful, but definitely not intuitive for someone who doesn’t already know that. The pull down was more convenient. Thanks for the tips!

For a year now when I open a hymn and then turn my phone horizontal the phone glitches and it takes a bit before the hymn will switch to that view. So I always join in singing after everyone else (most people still seem to use physical copies). Leaving two stars in hopes developers see this and fix the app. Everything else is great though. One other thing: I wish it went back to where you had to drag the page down to scroll back to the top. I hold my phone with one hand while singing, so I can’t reach the “scroll to top” button. Back when all you had to do was pull down on the page I could do it with one finger when holding my phone with one hand.

Thank you for your feedback! Please download the latest version of the app. That should solve the Sheet Music glitching issue you were experiencing. Thank you for the comment about the scroll to top. We'll discuss potential solutions as a team. For now the button does extend the full width of the screen so if you tap in line with the text "Scroll to Top" it will work even if you don't tap the words "Scroll to Top". Let us know if that fixes it for you.

Great app with a major flaw

This app has all the hymns beautifully formatted to sing or play on the piano. And the ability to have the hymns played audibly is great.
But that is also its major flaw. It is way too easy to accidentally touch the play button at the bottom of the screen and start the hymn playing aloud. Often it's not evident that this has happened until the church organist stops playing, long after you have closed the app and turned off your phone. How embarrassing to have to quickly fumble around trying to stop it from playing while the sacrament is being blessed.
And as if in an attempt to make this all the more common, the music doesn't stop when you put the iPhone to sleep, and it even plays WHEN THE MUTE SWITCH IS ON!
It is a fairly common event that this happens in our ward, perhaps because we have too few hymnals, coupled with he fact thatcher our ward is comprised of mostly young, tech savvy individuals not afraid of pulling their phone out to sing from. But maybe they should be afraid.
Please fix this. All it would take is to add a confirmation dialog asking if you really want to start it playing. Oh, and don't play WHEN THE MUTE SWITCH IS ON!

A few little things to fix

Firstly, I want to acknowledge all the work that went into this new update. There were a lot of changes and additions and that is great. However, there are 3 things that bug me.
1. I used to be able to have playlists with different languages in them. Now, even if the title shows up as the language I wanted, it switches to English when it plays. Not cool.
Tied into that, I loved being able to look at a specific hymn and be able to change the language on just that hymn. From what I can tell, the only place to change language is on the main menu and it changes everything. Can we bring back the language options for individual songs?
2. Where’s my “Now playing” on the main menu? I used that a lot but now it looks like I have to go to the playlist tab every time. I use the same playlist at night and it was nice to be able to pick up from where it left off.
3. Why is there a pause between songs or when one song is on repeat? Like there’s a 5 second pause before it starts again and it has stopped playing altogether a few times. I never had any problem with things like that before.
I know there was a lot of changes in the new update and I hope you guys are still working hard to iron out the kinks. Thanks.

Developer Response ,

Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback. We are actively working to fix the language swapping options on for playlists and songs. The "Now Playing" feature was moved to a different place. Now when you press play on a song, collection, or folder, a mini player will show at the bottom of the screen which displays the current song that is playing. If you tap on the mini player, it will expand to the full player where you will find the playback controls, see the player queue, and access the overflow menu (The three dots) at the top of the screen to download the song, add it to a playlist, or view the sheet music or lyrics. Thank you for reporting that the player does not stay active when you close and reopen the app. We are working to fix this issue as well. In looking into the long pause between audio examples we can't seem to replicate this issue. There are many factors which could cause a pause of that nature, such as internet bandwidth and the actual recording having that time built in. Try downloading the recordings to your device in the your app and see if that fixes the problem. You can download a song or an entire playlist from the overflow menu. Let us know if that fixes that issue for you. Thank you again for using the app and for your review.
