In practice, not that helpful
Just returned from a three week vacation in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and this app was seldom used. I ended up using the Oxford Translator more than this app, despite the higher price tag for LP. This app is missing a very basic line - "Where is the train station?" which you need to survive in a major city like Hong Kong or Shanghai. Other things such as flirting are handled better by the Oxford app, which offers the option to piece together a sentence from individual phrases. LP has only wholly, pre-made sentences (basically, you have less options). Do not recommend this one when there is a better alternative that does the same thing for half the price.
Too few useful phrases
I just returned from a 2 week trip to China. I saw this on the Apple commercial and thought "why not try this app." It carries far less phrases than a standard paper phrasebook which costs less.I had also brought a paper phrasebook that I purchased at a local used book store which was much more useful to me. While I did use my ipod touch in China I never used this app.
