Mediocre
I have installed three of these type apps on my iPad - FastMall, Micello, and PointInside. The first two are available only as iPhone apps. PointInside is a native iPad app.
FastMall - won't even load. It crashes instantly. NON-STARTER. Apple store doesn't allow me to give it no stars, so it gets one. *
Micello - Limited data, as the largest malls in my area (San Diego) are not included. They must have something against Westfield. Gets one star due to lack of inclusion of large shopping centers. *
PointInside - Excellent app - easy to navigate. Some map data is obsolete. For example, the Microsoft store in Fashion Valley which opened this past summer is not on the map. But this app is very good. And it is an iPad app. Earns four stars. ****

There are better apps out there with better maps.

The indoor position on the iPhone 4 is much better.
