Moving Van

Description
Moving Van allows you to easily identify the contents of every box you pack when moving house, relocating or putting items into storage.
As each box is packed, use this app to detail the contents, take photos of the items in the box, and assign each box with a unique name or number. If moving house, the room that the contents belong in can also be assigned. This will speed unloading and unpacking.
We all know that unpacking after moving house can be a long, slow process. With Moving Van, if you need to find a specific item which is still not unpacked, you can simply search for that item and immediately identify the box you need to look in. Similarly, if you need to quickly remind yourself what is in each box, you can quickly view each box's content. This feature is important when putting boxes in long term storage, and can even be useful for insurance purposes.
Moving Van will take at least some of the hassle of your next house move away!

Helpful!
I haven't experienced any bugs. It does what it claims- so far... I'm still in the packing stage. The export is super fast.
I wish:
-You could add a pic of the box itself
-The export included all of the pictures I took
-You could export right as xls (maybe you can?)
Seriously just the list of box contents is so helpful - how could you not like that? Print it out and stick it on/near the boxes when they're in their final storage place? Awesome. It's SO easy to do something like this WHILE you're packing - not carting around a notebook or laptop. It doesn't take very long to do and it gives you a couple of minutes to rest before it's "on to the next"...
Amateurish
Enjoy typing "living room" or "master bedroom" again and again and again and again. There's no type ahead, no buttons for repetitive tasks.
Workflow is awkward and amateurish, generally.
And I nearly choked when I entered box number "10" and found that it auto-sorted between "1" and "2". Whu??? I can't believe they didn't anticipate this!
This clearly wasn't created by developers with any interest in interface or workflow. It's just a little doodad, a proof of concept, a toy.
I wouldn't be so harsh, but it hasn't been updated since September, so apparently this is pretty much it.
could be better for $2
I wanted a way to keep track of books packed in empty printer boxes. I have 2 suggestion to add to previous posted ones.
-preset rooms so I don't have to type in same rooms that nearly every house have.
-scalable/ zoomable pics.
-mirrored backed up data.
Every home have kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms and so forth. It took me a while to type a list of rooms that's already common among most homes.
Thumbnails of camera captures are fine but how am I suppose to see the content? I can barely see the details of the items or titles of books. It's seems a waste of the iphone's built in full potential to make thumbnails.
I wounded up using the free Evernote app, labeling each picture with #1 on up followed by short letter designations such as K for kitchen, Be1 for bedroom 1, Di for dining room. You get the idea. Evernote also backs up my efforts so the data are safe and secure. There are other database type apps can can do this and supports zoomable pics.
I gave it a 3 star for concept and clean eyecandy design. So far it doesn't crash on my iPhone 3GS running 3.1.3 but I only used it for less than an hour just to see what it could do.
