My First AAC is an affordable augmentative and alternative communication application for the iPad that is specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers with delayed speech or severe speech disorders. Intuitive and child-friendly, My First AAC helps young children to communicate with family, caregivers, teachers and other people they meet in everyday life.
Developed in collaboration with speech and language pathologists, My First AAC offers icons organized by categories that reflect children’s natural speech development. Scroll through theme-based category icons, such as greetings, food, or feelings, and access sets of over 250 related words and phrases to express frequently used ideas. Each word or phrase is represented by a colorful icon and, when tapped, triggers the corresponding audio. You can also create customized icons using your own images. The touch screen and large icons make interaction much easier for kids with motor skills deficiencies.

Powerful, kid friendly, high quality beginning AAC!
Okay, I was slow to understand the treasure of Injini apps, but after hearing enough people rave about Child Development, we took the plunge when it went on sale and were amazed. Well, when I heard they had an AAC app, I had to see how it would measure up to the other early AAC apps. The simple design with great thought to layout and access are very user and programming friendly. Even my husband was interested in looking it over. The color was welcome and inviting and the voices very high quality. A hearty endorsement from this mom with 20+ years experience in AAC!
Perfect for Beginning AAC Users
As the assistive technology specialist for our county for 35 years, I have been waiting for this for a long time! Uncluttered, no more than 8 choices at a time, the ability to individualize each icon and page and simple to use. Also, the voices are great. My students find this app very appealing and will actually wait to take turns to use it! :)
