This saves you time and headaches on the road.
NAVIGON MyMaps:
NAVIGON MyMaps allows you to carry only the country maps you currently need. Meaning you have more memory space for photos, music and other apps.

What's New in Version 2.0.1
Version 2.0.1 includes the following optimizations and new features (for details on map updates, please see below):

Version 2.0 included a new map update feature called FreshMaps. FreshMaps is a premium service that NAVIGON adapted from their successful line of PNDs (personal navigation devices) in Europe, whereby for a fee, users can get the latest maps every three months for a period of at least two years. The introduction of this service into the app was planned prior to Garmin’s acquisition of NAVIGON.
Prior to the launch of FreshMaps, free map updates were provided on an irregular basis. In response to customer feedback, we will continue to deliver occasional free map updates in addition to the optional FreshMaps service, which provides more regular and frequent (quarterly) map updates. Note that FreshMaps also upgrades regional versions, such as MyRegion or USA, to the full North American map.

Better than TomTom and Garmin
Been using this app for two years. The long and short:
1) This is the cleanest, simplest, most fully featured gps navigation app on the app store. Period.
2) The map updates are free. You just get the option now to pay to get the updates FOUR times a year instead of once or twice. No brainer: you still get free updates. Chill out folks.
3) The price is unbeatable. Almost half the price of the other major GPS navigators with all, most, or more features than they offer.
Take it from someone gifting this app this holiday: if this app doesn't satisfy you, you're probably asking for the unreasonable, and nothing will.

I was disappointed when Navigon removed the iTunes controls. Very glad to see that feature restored in this update in response to customer feedback. Bravo!
what an awful rip off..! Obtuse instructions..on upgrade..
For something I have used almost every day to completely stop functioning when the "free update" was installed and the only solution seems to completely wipe my iPhone and start over with a clean install of everything…what is free what is not? No warning no announcement no email nothing…go to use the software and find the screen locked on map update and can't get it to do anything else. Did Garmon purchase them so they could get out of the iPhone software business…are we supposed to buy some stupid device because the iPhone version has been dumbed down..who has THE TIME..for this ???? When support gets back to me or I stumble onto the page with all the instructions there..and it's my fault I will change my rating. Until then DON"T TOUCH THE UPGRADE button..unless you are prepared for a little tech detour..
