It does work!
I love Nikon products and have multiple products by them. But recently I got this app and using my T/C triumph and the omega 300 scope I sighted it in with a zero at 100 yards and 100 grains of powder and 245 grain Hp power belt. Then I backed up to about 175 yards and held where it said and it hit dead on! Haven't tried a rifle yet, but no doubts it will work as well!
Great program Nikon - Spot On
Works great, it is wonderful to have all of this info at your fingertips at the range and In the field.
Wonderful! But could be improved.
It would be perfect if you could manually select a click value other than 1/2 MOA.
The click value for many scopes is 1/4MOA so you need to double the click value in your head when actually adjusting the scope.
For some reason, the charts will only show wind drift in inches, not clicks or MOA when selected.
Also, the program has been unable to determine my position for getting current weather conditions, which would be very cool.
If you don't have a BDC reticle, the reticle graphic will not show hold-over or wind drift, but the ballistic tables are great.
For open military sights, for ex a Garand or M1A, you can select a 1x power scope and the correct sight height and the program will generate useful ballistics tables.
