Description
Once is a magazine of photo stories exclusively for iPad. It's an intuitive, surprising, and sharable magazine of the world’s best photography. Once publishes both long-form stories and freshly reported news, often timely, always in depth. It’s a classic format reimagined for tablets.
Rooted in the journalistic tradition, Once works with photographers and writers to create complete stories. The magazine doesn’t aggregate images from the internet and doesn’t publish slideshows—every piece is a curated exploration of the human experience.
Each Once story is grounded around long photo edits, an essay, and captions. Select stories also include audio clips, videos, maps, and infographics.
The magazine brings visual storytelling to a new generation of readers. Great stories, however, come from great storytellers, and Once is committed to keeping a vital pursuit a viable profession. The magazine shares App Store revenue directly with its contributors.
The app is free to download and our Pilot Issue may also be downloaded for free. Regular issues of the magazine, which are released monthly, may be purchased for $2.99 each. You may also subscribe for the discounted price of $1.99 per month.
Your subscription to Once will automatically renew each month and, starting at the time of purchase, your credit card will be charged through your iTunes® account. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your iTunes account settings, though you may not cancel your subscription during the active period.
We welcome your thoughts and feedback. If you encounter problems with the app or would like to make a feature request, please don’t hesitate to write us at: app@oncemagazine.com.

Just another Magazine
I hope this reaches the "publisher" of this new, "digital" magazine. Magazine publishers seem to see a magazine, and each page, as some sort of work of art rather than a way to communicate. I got an iPad and a Kindle because, at my age with my eyesight, reading traditional magazines and books was no longer workable, yet with the iPad and the Kindle I can control the font, etc. I want that from "digital" magazines too, but all I get is static pages. I know it's hard to grasp, but digital to me does not mean "not printed on paper," it means I have choices. The photography in your "magazine" is very good and if I am interested in your stories the content is good, but why am I stuck with your text size and font? And yes I understand that "publishers" are still trying to figure out how to make money from content in the digital age but sharing through social media and email is the future like it or not.

Similar to "This American Life" and "National Geographic". Well done.
Good 1st effort
Worth more than current asking price. Quality photojournalism is a welcome addition. Let's hope they up the interactivity like WIRED is doing.
