Description
Revisualize your photos through an AI artist's eye.
This filter is based on a model of the eye developed to enable an artificial intelligence to see. We asked it to show us what it sees, and this is what came out. There is nothing to tweak--just select or snap a photo for Painteresque to revisualize, and a few seconds later the resulting image is ready to save.
It generally produces good results for scenery, still lifes, architecture, and animals. Results for photos of people can be good or bad since it tends to bring out details rather than hiding them.
Customer Reviews
Painteresque is a fantastic!
Painteresque is a quick and easy-to-use app that takes a regular photo and makes it look like a lot like a painting, or even a complicated color pencil drawing. Unlike many other photo-to-painting apps, it doesn't overlay a particular artist's style (like Van Gogh or Warhol). Rather, it tends to filter for and present the most visually interesting parts of the image--the changes in line and color that make a composition interesting.
I've found that it works especially well on lush landscapes, cityscapes, or interiors with a lot of different colors and lines. Forests, busy alleyways, harbors, marketplaces, interiors of bookshops or libraries, these kinds of images look fantastic through the Painteresque lens.
Usage notes: The app can brighten up darker photos that may not look that clear to begin with and that it transforms seemingly mundane "throwaway" photos into fresh and intriguing compositions. I have been surprised to see how some of my dullest looking photos suddenly appear very artistic and even frameable when Painteresqued.
Some images work better than others--it is very sensitive to subtle changes in color, so sometimes it picks up fine details on things, like skin, and renders them a bit muddy. I actually like the complexity of the effect, but can see why it would be less ideal for closeup portraits or large patches of flat sky.
When I first tried the app, I ended up staying up all night using it--I couldn't stop! It is exciting to see how each photo will turn out. I recommend Painteresque!
See the world like artists do
Will reveal details and perspective you never noticed. Kinda like HDR but on a different level.
Fun
It converts the humdrum pix in my album to art--which I could further enhance, crop, brighten, alter &etc. using iPhoto.
