Pencast Player is an easy-to-use application powered by Livescribe that allows you to download, view and play your smartpen notes, audio recordings, or interactive pencasts.
With Pencast Player on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you can view all your uploaded pencasts on your My Livescribe account. So when you’re on-the-go, you can replay your pencasts with the tap of a finger. You can also download public pencasts from the community to view on your device.

no personal folders :(
I love that I can upload my class notes to my iPod and always have them with me! However, I wish I could organize them into folders for specific classes. Also, I uploaded my previous semesters' notes and could only get 63 pp to upload at one time. Both classes had over 100 pp of notes. Having personal folders to place these files, would be very helpful.
New Version Is Definitely An Improvement
A pretty basic pencasting viewing application, but quite convenient if you are a Livescribe smartpen user.
Fortunately, this newer version appears to have eliminated the past bugs from the earlier 1.04 release.
Using this app in conjunction with Livescribe Connect software (where I can now send notes/audio directly to my iPad from the desktop software or paper) also makes using the Pencast Player on my iPad more convenient.

Half baked
Crashes often
Uploads to livescribe from pen always fail. Half the time they fail from livescribe desktop too.
Unable to delete downloaded pencasts.
If you have a 200 page notebook on your phone and want to look at the last page, good luck. You have to swipe 199 times.
Does not remember last page you were looking at for each pencast. Again think the last page of the notebook.
I don't usually upload audio but that is broken as well if paused.
Like the title says this app is half baked and was thrown together quickly or was programmed by less than adequate programmer(s).
There are too many issues with this app to deserve anything but 1 star. Kind of like aiming for Word functionality but delivering Notepad.
