There are other Peter Rabbit apps in the App Store, but none of them showcase Sideways’ innovative Buddy Reading (Patent Pending) technology. The Buddy Reading feature allows parents to read the story to their children even when they can’t be together. A simple connection using Game Center technology allows the adult’s voice to be heard through an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch as the child listens or reads along on a second device.
Beatrix Potter’s whimsical story and beautiful illustrations of Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail are reproduced faithfully on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, but this and other new features make the book come to life:
Parents and children can read the book aloud or listen to a narrator. Touch a sparrow or tree and the word appears on screen and is read aloud. The image zooms in for a better view of the characters. Children can even help the bunnies pick blackberries.
The iPad version adds a coloring book to the mix, allowing children to color ten illustrations from the book. Children pick from among 16 crayons and “draw” right on the screen. Young readers can then save their work and email it to a friend or grandparent – or erase and start over.
Lastly, parents who want to give their children more of Beatrix Potter’s most beloved character can purchase toys, prints and more directly from their iPad.
Sideways’ adaptation of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” preserves the beauty and simplicity of the original while adding features to heighten the experience for parents and children alike.

Rich app, well made.
There's a surprising amount of features, content, and ways to approach them with this one. I'm glad to see there isn't only one single way to "read" the story, and the coloring book is actually really entertaining for longer than you'd expect. You can appreciate how well the illustrations were handled as well. Overall, this app feels very inviting. Definitely worth the $1.99.

This has got it all - the original story and drawings plus a coloring book. Intend to try the Buddy Reading feature next time I'm out of town. Very nice!!!!
A cute little app with sophisticated details
I'm pretty impressed with this storybook app. The interface is very attractive and I like the subtle details. There is more than one way to read the book and has some cute features in it that will entertain kids beyond the story. Younger kids may even learn to read a few words. Nice work.
