After looking over all of the available pitch pipe apps and trying several of the free ones, I decided to invest $0.99 on Pitch, Please!
Well worth the investment - the pitches are precise, it's great to be able to span 3 octaves, and the piano note in particular is loud enough without sounding for too long a period of time.
Better than others.
I like this app because it is set up like an actual pitch pipe. Other free apps I tried had just pitches listed. I like the option of having a clarinet, piano, or tone. The tone option sounds much like a real pitch pipe. Plus you have two options ending the pitch. It can die on its own after a few seconds or you can press the center again and it will mute the pitch. I also like the options for tuning. Every band/choir is different, so you can adjust your tuning to them with this app.
