Description

Application Description

PocketCPR for iPhone ™ provides REAL-TIME feedback and instructions on CPR that empowers ANYONE to learn and practice CPR, so that they can be READY when seconds really count!!! The technology is the same as that used in PocketCPR, an FDA-cleared device, for actual rescue from sudden cardiac arrest.

Pocket CPR for iPhone is a must-have app for anyone who wants to learn how to perform CPR with accuracy. The PocketCPR can be used in CPR training programs and for individual practice at home or at work. It is a great tool for families to learn CPR in order to be prepared if a loved one needs their help.

PocketCPR for iPhone:

• Actively utilizes the accelerometer hardware in the iPhone for real-time coaching and actual feedback on CPR while you are learning and practicing.
• Measures the actual rate and depth of your compressions and lets you know if you need to push faster or slower, and whether you should push harder or softer.

Other CPR prompting devices can provide instructions on CPR or encourage you on the steps and pace of CPR, but ONLY PocketCPR for iPhone can:

1. Give instructions
2. Prompt on the steps for proper CPR
3. AND give you REAL-TIME feedback on the chest compressions you deliver.

PocketCPR for iPhone will remind you to Call for Help, to provide ventilations according to guidelines (optional), and to perform CPR at the correct rate and depth. The device algorithms are in complete compliance with American Heart Assocation and International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) guidelines.

Pocket CPR for iPhone features include:

• Clear visual and audio step-by-step instructions on CPR performance, including initial steps for the Chain of Survival
• Option to go straight to chest compressions for those who are familiar with the initial Chain of Survival steps
• Precise metronome to pace chest compressions
• Accurate ability to detect rate of actual compressions and to state visually and audibly whether to push faster or to push slower.
• Industry-proven technology to detect the depth of chest compressions.
• Audio and visual prompts to push harder or to push softer.
• Prompts to remind the user to provide ventilations after the detection of 30 chest compressions.
• Feature to detect when chest compressions have stopped and to prompt user to START CPR.
• Complete Instructions for Use

NOTE: The Pocket CPR for iPhone is currently for training and practice purposes only. The application is not yet cleared by the U.S. FDA for use in an actual rescue.

CPR Training App with a REAL practice tool

This app can do for students and anybody in less than 5 minutes what a CPR class takes hours to get done. You can learn CPR by following the talking instructions and then practicing chest compressions using the last screen. A really cool use of the acceleromter technology in the iPhone. Nice to have a way to know for sure how deep and how fast to do CPR. It can be hard to tell, and hard to teach and this app does the trick. As a CPR instructor I am going to suggest to all of my CPR and ACLS students and many of my Emergency Room colleagues that they get this app and practice how to do CPR right. The application uses a clever spot in the Settings application on the phone to allow you to program an emergency services phone number then gives you a reminder to call for help in several places and on almost every screen.

I like it - hopefully I won't need it

It is really cool that this App will call 911 for you. I wish my elderly parents would get this and learn to at least do the basics of CPR. I would just feel better. This app has a nice feature that lets you figure out how to do CPR by practicing it on your own. The feedback gauge takes a couple tries ot get the hang of, but once you figure it out, it is obvious when you are doing it right. The parts of CPR that really matter are the chest compressions, and this app lets you skip right to them. Where do I get the case pictured in one of the screens. It looks like a nice idea to put the phone on the back of your hand, but without the right case it is tough. Just holding it works well too, but you need to watch the screen while you are pumping. The ticking sound is very easy to hear, but the volume on the other voice prompts could be a little louder.

Hands-Only CPR and Full CPR training App

Paramedics and CPR Instructors should all own this App. For $5.99 you can send all your students home with a real way to easily teach their friends and family how to do the basics and all the pieces of real CPR. It seems like you can use basically any soft cushion to hold your phone and practice the motions of pushing on a person's chest. This app lets you simulate all the timing and motions to do CPR just right. It is calibrated to the depth and rate reccomended by the American Heart Assocation and American Red Cross so you can really get the feel for how hard and how fast to push. The app has a way to call a phone number too to get help on the way. I have tried several other CPR and first aid apps and NONE of them give you any help in learning the true motor skills you need to teach people how to do CPR properly. Great app and well worth the price.
