Whether you admire the typography, the luminous colors, or the independent shops behind the signs, Project Neon will bring the fantastic nightly show of neon from New York’s streets to your hands. Plan a walk to take your own neon photos, get nearby sign info on the go, explore new neighborhoods, or just enjoy armchair travels. The database is frequently updated to reflect currently illuminated signs in all five boroughs.
With Project Neon you can:
• View beautiful full-screen photos of over one hundred of New York’s best neon signs, with new signs added periodically.
• See a list of signs with thumbnails sorted by distance from your current location — notable signs are marked with a star.
• Browse a gallery of thumbnails — tap any one to see the photo larger (tilt your phone for full screen) and access information about that sign.
• Rate each sign and see a list of the most popular signs, as well as a list of top signs from around the city.
• Share neon sign information on Facebook, Twitter, or by email (Foursquare integration coming soon).
• See detailed information about each sign, including neighborhood, address, business, phone number, nearest subway, and a review of the sign.
