Not a very flexible app

Sad to see my $5 go. I guess I was looking for the natural heir to the legendary VisualHub transcoder. I found the open source heir to iSquint and (not to mention any names) any 'video monkey' should download it and use it instead. It already did a much better job of converting FLV files into AVI--and even better--WMV files.

Bummer.

Were to start

The following apps are all far superior to this one and most are free:

Tanbee AVCHD Video Converter
Media Converter
Handbrake
Total Video for Mac

They all have the ability to customize their settings. I was specing this out to put in a series of large computer labs, and the program the code was copied from 5 years ago is still better than this one. I was hoping it would be a good one, but it's the worst I have found and the only one I paid for.

No compression at all?

This app doesn't make any sense to me. It converts a 357 meg AVI file to anywhere between 2 gigs to 1 gig (I tried every setting). How does this make sense? If we were able to tweak more setting then maybe I could figure out a sweet spot but as is, this app isn't very helpful.
