Fun but not spectacular

I've been waiting for a good Risk game to come out and I'm a little disappointed that the "official" game is this. I have three main complaints.

1. It's too easy.
2. Too many clicks necessary to play.
3. No online play.

1. Anyone who has played iConquer on the Mac will feel let down on this game. No matter the difficulty setting, no matter the number of computer players, I will win every game. And with a crappy strategy at that. I think that this game would benefit with some computer tactics like iConquer, like when the computer is allowed to cheat, all computer players attack human players, etc. It is just too easy to take one territory per turn and then annihilate once your cards are turned in.
2. Drafting troops with the spin wheel is lame. It would be significantly better if I could just tap each country to add an army. That is intuitive on the iPad.
3. The whole point of having this on an iPad is to play when no one else wants to play with you. If I could convince my wife to play Risk with me, I'd rather pull out the board than pass the iPad. Online play would make this app so much better (also effectively eliminating my #1 complaint of being too easy).

I would suggest that a good price for this game is $2.99. Anything more than that is a bit too much. It does have potential, though. With some updates this could be a great game. Also, the medals are fun to go for. More medals would be great. And where are the black and gray pieces?!?! If you are porting a board game like Risk, you have to keep all the elements. Some of us have traditions!

Pop-up ad killed it

No, I don't want Tetris and when I spend money for an app, I don't want ads -- especially when they render the game unplayable.

Nicely done

I was excited when I read that Risk was available for the iPad. I purchased the iPhone version, and have played it on a regular basis. Risk on the iPad blows the iPhone version away. The graphics are great, gameplay is incredible. The pass around option makes it fun to play with a group, and computer play is challenging. I highly recommend Risk for the iPad, it is a steal at 6.99
