Description

** ALL NEW VERSION 2.0 **

Screeny makes screen capturing easy and gives you the freedom to capture your videos or images at any size. You can click & drag to resize the capture area or input the exact pixel dimensions to set to the size of the capture area. All the while you will get instant feedback on the capture area's current pixel dimensions.

Screen casting just got a billion times better with Screeny. Now you can capture a specific portion of your screen, rather than having to record your entire desktop. This can drastically reduce video file size and bring focus to a specific portion of your screen. You can even include a video feed from your web-cam inside of your screen cast!

NOTE: Screeny ONLY works in OS X Lion (10.7)

Snow Leopard support removed?

I originally purchased this app on my laptop running Snow Leopard and (without notice) the developer has made it Lion only. The problem now is that it continues to scream for updates and cannot be removed or silenced. Apparently no one reads support requests because I am not the only Snow Leopard user experiencing this issue.

fast, clean, and works very well

I am not a huge screencaster, but this app is just perfect for recording a quick capture to show others how to navigate a web service, set up an account or just make a short product demo.

The value is quite high and it stands up well to much higher priced alternatives.

Simple and great UI but…

First: if you're arranging the recording "window" before starting to record you don't have access to what's underneath… Incredibly frustrating when trying to adjust the size of the window you're trying to record in order to fit a recording size (for example, when trying to record 720p).

Second: another major annoyance is no built-in audio recording preferences. Using Soundflower has caused me to not record audio twice (there's no indication of audio levels while recording).

Third: no codec preferences. I've heard from the developer that this is a limitation of the AppStore and Lion… In that case, why sell such a nice app, nerfed of its potential on the AppStore?

I honestly want to support the developer and all but I'm going to have to get another non-AppStore alternative for more reliable recording… Sometimes I wish the AppStore allowed trials or this app had a trial outside the AppStore (like many others do).

Cheers.
