Description
Silver Service is an Australian developed premium taxi booking application for Australian cities. The cities currently catered for are:
- Sydney
- Melbourne
- Newcastle
Silver Service allows you to book a premium taxi on your iPhone with active geo location. The app knows where you are so it makes booking an easy and convenient experience.
The booking application books a taxi within specific cities and allocates to local fleets. For example if you were in Sydney it offers a Sydney taxi, if you were in Melbourne it offers a Melbourne taxi and if in Newcastle, it offers Newcastle taxis only.
On the first booking you will need to enter your name and number which is stored and will be used in future, saving you taxi booking time. The iPhone app uses geo location to identify where you are. The accuracy depends on the reception levels of your phone and the warm up time.
New features are constantly being developed to improve the speed of the application as well as increased coverage. There is also an Automated Dial phone feature which calls the taxi company directly if you require this alternative.
This application does not guarantee that a taxi will arrive, however it will book the taxi for you and despatch your booking to a taxi to you. Drivers may accept the booking. This happens in most cases although delays may occur during peak hours.

Ok, much room for improvement
This is the same review I wrote for your other app - mcabs. Why don't you combine the two apps and have a selection whether we want TCS or silver service rather than have 2 separate apps?
App does what it says - hasn't failed me yet but could do with some extra features:
- when selecting pick up and drop off destinations, how about letting me type the city names instead of scrolling through a huge list each time
- how about function to email booking confirmations?
- how about function to let me see current booking
- how about function to let me cancel current booking
- how about function to see when cab is on its way
- how about letting me see previous bookings and select 'same as before' so I don't need to redo all the same booking details each time (especially helpful when I keep booking to go to the airport from home)
Would be good to see some of these in a future update, right now app is extremely basic. Still good, but could be much better.
Don't rely on it.
Used it for first time. All worked ok and confirmed. Taxi never turned up. Rang call centre, no booking. Result late to airport.
