Description
SiMU Pro (Simple iPhone Management of UCS) is an application that will allow you to do simple management functions of a Cisco Unified Compute System (UCS) when away from your desk. SiMU allows you to login, check errors, reboot servers, and assign service profiles to blades among other things.
SiMU uses the open XML API built into the UCSM software. All of the security and access permissions are granted by UCSM and therefore are carried through to this application.
SiMU Pro can use secure communications. All traffic can be passed between the UCSM and SiMU using SSL encryption.
Your password is stored in clear text in the memory of the iOS device, but is never saved to nonvolatile storage, so as soon as you leave the application, the information is lost.
This application has been tested with version 1.2 - 1.4 (limited 2.0) of UCSM. If you do not have a Cisco UCS but want to learn more you can get a UCS simulator from the Cisco developers portal.
