Customer Reviews
I am getting an impression that Microsoft just wants to kill the Skype.
Are you guys going to finally pay some attention to the reviews/comments, or your customers are just wasting their times trying to help you make this app better and more functional?! A bit more respect and attention, please! Dozens of comments similar to below have been hanging there for few months now. 3 or 4 updates were issued since then... but the comments are still actual, just as they were several months ago...
1. In the older versions there used to be a good and useful feature: pending IMs (especially for invisible and offline contacts) were marked in Italic until delivered to the addressee. So you could see on messages screen if the message has been delivered or not. New version(s) doesn't have it. Why?! Don't you wanna bring it back?! Please?!
2. On my both iPhones the app switches itself from speakerphone back to earpiece back to the mode as soon as the call is answered. It doesn't happen for video calls, but for the regular phone and Skype calls only. So once my call is answered, I have to again click on phone icon to go to the loud speaker... Silly and annoying... Please fix that bug.
3. Very small window and font for IM messaging is just extremely annoying... Autocorrect option in messaging can run even a stone-cold person totally nuts (the cross is so small that you can hit it 1-2 times max out of 10). Gets you crazy... especially when you try to type a message in other language using English keyboard... Have to go back and correct almost every second word in the abracadabra which my message was turned into thanks to the autocorrect... However, the same autocorrect is perfectly manageable when using e-mail and SMS, just 'cause it's not so microscopic as in Skype. I have to use my reading glasses (+0.5) with my iPhones only when I use Skype. All the other apps are OK without glasses. With the older versions of Skype I didn't need them either. What's the problem about increasing the font?!
I don't understand what are you updating, if the major bugs and problems are still there. Does your QC team even read these reviews?!
Disappointed!
Please fix this bug
If you press speakerphone while the other party is ringing it goes into speakerphone until the party picks up but goes back into earpiece as soon as they pick up.
No edit
It's annoying that a whole team of developers doing a simple GUI can't see the need of enabling edition in the dial text box. What good is that you can paste something in that box if you can't edit it? If you need to add a prefix or edit something else you'd need to exit the app, go to a text editor, edit, copy and paste back. C'mon something so simple and important and yet no one there can see it? Sorry if i sound harsh but I've been waiting for this OBVIOUS feature for years and every new update is just a new disappointment.
