Sobering, and Ridiculous Fun
Before I played this I believed I was a clever and brilliant man. Now I can see that I am a man of average intelligence, thanks to the breakdown after each stage. If you like a challenge, and something that will pick the mechanical side of your brain, grab this game quickly. It's one of those games that can keep you up until the sun rises...or make you want to throw your device across the room. :p
An Incredibly Addictive Puzzler
SpaceChem Mobile is a challenging puzzle game where the player is tasked with constructing molecules and transporting them to the output location of a 'reactor'. Some levels involve linking multiple reactors together to achieve the final result. Apparently, this was originally a PC product, which I have not tried. I noticed this was on sale, investigated a little, and made the purchase. And it has definitely turned out to be a worthwhile purchase.
The chemistry theme of the game seemed a little daunting at first, but is just that: a theme. But it is a theme that works very, very well. No knowledge of chemistry is required, and this could easily have been presented with another type of theme, such as hypothetical space products, although I feel that being based on a real concept gives it a remarkably genuine atmosphere. The true heart of the puzzling, though, seems to be very consistent with a visual programming environment, but is accessible enough for anyone regardless of knowledge of programming or chemistry.
I have spent hours working through about 1/2 of the included puzzle levels, and many more are available free through the in-game ReaserchNet, so I can see myself enjoying this game for quite a while. Some of the puzzles can be a little challenging, but with a bit of thought and some persistence, I am usually able to find a solution. And I have also replayed some of the levels to see if I can develop a more efficient solution. Comparison of my result to other players solutions is interesting, if not sometimes frustrating. But there is really no scoring in the game, so creating a solution to a level, regardless of it's efficiency, is still a satisfying end in itself.
I can only think of good things to say about SpaceChem Mobile, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it as a worthy purchase.
I think I broke my Brain
This is easily the most interesting and challenging puzzle game on the app store If you enjoy interesting logical/mechanical puzzles you owe it to yourself to get this game. The puzzles are engrossing, the satisfaction of solving them is better than that thing you're thinking of, and it's cheap.
