Continually prompts for registration
This app pompts me for registration EVERY time I launch it, even though I've clicked the "DO NOT REGISTER" button SEVERAL TIMES. I downloaded this in the app store, I don't feel the need to give out any more personal information. I DON'T WANT TO REGISTER, thats why I clicked the "DO NOT REGISTER" button!
Other than that annyoance and having to babysit the program when all I want to do is un-zip a file, the program does it's job effectivly.
Just right click the rar, open with Stuffit, and its done!
Very simple and effective app, Set to become the standard.
I don't know why I reinstalled this
In a word: Lame...as an archiving app. It works, unless you want to split, encrypt and compress (decent compress, not the minimal compression Stuffit does) a large file or extract one. Do yourself a favor and purchase Entropy or BetterZip. Both have a HUGE list of supported file types, encrypted files are no problem, nor are split files and both offer really nice compression (using .7zip and High Compression is the best, for large files). About the only things they can't handle are .ace and .extension.001-type files...but I haven't seen an .ace file in 10+ years and freeware Split and Concat will handle the others, LOL
However, for those who don't do much, in the way of archiving/unarchiving, this will do. That's not me, so I don't use it...I actually haven't even run across any .sit files, so it's "in the back of the closet" and I'll probably uninstall it in a couple months, if I still haven't used it. ;)
