Description

Sumoku is played with tiles numbered 1 to 9 - played in a crossword style arrangement. This official Blue Orange Games™ version brings this fun and educational game to your iOS5 device.

Players collect points by arranging tiles in rows and columns which add up to multiples of the key number. All players contribute to a common crossword-style pattern in the middle of the playing area.

At the start of the game the key number is determined. Each line of unbroken tiles (both columns and rows) must be a multiple of the key number. For example if the key number is 5, then the set of unbroken tiles must total 5, 10, 15, 20. Score points for each tile played and the other tiles that form the new line of unbroken tiles.

This game requires iOS5! Play turn-by-turn over the air with your friends or face-to-face on the same device.

Customer Reviews

Pretty good, but much room for improvement

Not a bad rendition of the original Sumoku--which my seven year-old loves--despite being excessively ad-heavy (ad after every turn). Some things I'd like to see in future updates:
1. Replay function: watch a turn-by-turn replay of a completed game (or current game)
2. Play in portrait or landscape mode
3. Chat/send message to other player(s)
4. Ability to rate/compliment other player(s) or maintain a favorite players list
5. Double-tap a 6 to a 9 when it's on the board
6. Ability to rearrange tiles in my rack the way I want
7. Fade the "<player> take bonus turn" message after a few seconds so I can see the whole board!
8. Highlight the tiles I've placed on the board during this turn so I can find them again if I find a better play
9. Sound/music controls
10. Additional leader boards such as number of games won, win/loss ratio, high score for one turn, high score for one play
11. Achievements; e.g. score a Sumoku, score two Sumokus in one turn, score two Sumokus in one play, score a Sumoku of each color in the same game, score 500/600/700 points in a game, win a game by 100/200/300 points, win 5 games in one day
12. AI mode (play against 1, 2, or 3 computer opponents)
