This is a precision tool designed to help you find the best waves each time you go surfing. It combines a comprehensive and accurate database of surf spots with live swell, wind and tide data. Every thirty minutes our proprietary algorithms score the quality of the waves at each spot based on the current conditions, so you can see when it’s best to check specific spots.
Automatically record current conditions and photos when you check the waves and share your reports instantly with your friends. Each log entry teaches SurfExplorer how to find waves that meet your personal preferences, so the more you log, the more accurate your personal scores will be.
This app is designed, built, and maintained by a team of honest, hard-working people, who are passionate about waves. What's New in Version 1.2
We've decided to waive monthly fees for this version of the app. Everyone can use all features of the app without having to pay a recurring fee. Future versions of the app will include new premium features that will likely require some sort of paid membership.

Great app
I never really review apps due to the busyness of my life but this app is great and the support is awesome! Ask a question and they answered in like mins!
And all the people who complain need to stop complaining about the subscription cause like said before why not go to work for free!
Also subscription fee is waived for year even more a reason this app is great!

Surf app aficionado thinks this is the best surf app
The SurfExplorer app is nothing like the other surf-forecasting apps (Oakley, MSW, et al). This app focuses on helping surfers target the best spots for the current conditions, which is fundamentally different from forecasting swell. I love this app because it brings together all of the raw data that I like to use when figuring out where to surf. The surf log is a really nice tool that I find myself referring to more and more. Based on what's in this first version, I can't wait to see what these guys include in the next version. It's bound to be pretty sweet. Try not to pay much attention to the haters who give it a single star. This is by far the coolest, most innovative surf app out there. It's well worth the cost of the app. You can tell that the folks who built it really care about taking care of their users.

Ok. This app is now #1. I changed my low review and now have to give this app 5 stars. We all appreciate the fact they listened to us and now removed the monthly charge! This is a brilliant move and if they do return to a pricing model, I bet they move to annual fee instead. That will benefit everyone; us with a wonderful app and the development team to continue to improve it. Thanks again!
