Customer Reviews
y'all be trippin.
$12 is not that bad a month, especially if you watch it a lot. considering that it can be a bit more costly just renting it...PER DISC. also, it's so much harder to find tvb's for episodes with English subtitles (since my mother never bothered to teach me her language). admittedly, the app itself needs some work, but other than that, it's great.
AirPlay Please
Bring in airplay then I will pay for it.

***** Update Nov 23, 2010 *****
From email forwarded by friends from Taiseng Tech Support: "We are currently encoding the entire catalog for iOS use - it will take a few weeks. Only about half the videos are available on iOS right now. It is this reason we have not officially announced the iOS app just yet. Retention should mirror the website's retention. There are currently no plans to remove any videos."

Was the following due to TaiSeng/Crunchyroll's servers maintenance problems?
On Nov 21, 2010 (Sunday) 18:00 to 23:59+ ET, I logged-in for more than six hours, each of the videos got degraded at the beginning of 25-30 seconds mark.

A number of drama series with no episodes/videos(just titles and descriptions) such as "Beauty Knows No Pain". You can also search videos with Chinese characters, the resulted videos will show up in most cases, but in English titles. I mentioned the following to give some general turn around time: One of the recent drama series "Gun Metal Grey"(刑警), episode #14, was shown in Hong Kong on Nov 18, 2010 where TaiSeng stated the series will be released on Nov 30, 2010 for episodes 1 to 5 as of this updated review. "Gun Metal Grey" (刑警) episode #15 will be broadcast in Hong Kong on Nov 22, 2010. Note that "Gun Metal Grey"(刑警) episode #15 was postponed on Nov 19, 2010 due to 43rd anniversary 萬千星輝賀台慶.

On day 1 of my 14-day trial. Good quality videos on desktop/laptop/iPhone4/iPad. On desktop/laptop, you can render pages/videos between English and Chinese (links on upper right), but you can't do that on iDevices. A major update/improvement is needed to stream videos over 3G (app description noted currently for WI-FI only). My iPhone 4 is not jail broken so no fake 3G over WI-FI. For some latest drama series not in numeric/sequential orders, some episode numbers are skipped, for example see drama series of "Some Day". I think I will continue to subscribe at $5.99 per month thereafter ($11.99/month regular). If you do your research there is a special promo code for $5.99. I will update this review to 5-stars if suggestions get implemented. Please give "this review helpful" via iTunes.
