Wish it had some more sounds

My "go to" metronome on my Mac is the Metronome app… had it for years… but it just flails now…. it will become "drunk" and not function as a metronome basically… that is sad because it has a bunch of different sounds… ESPECIALLY the kick drum sound…

I teach music and need a metronome app constantly.. not sure why no one can make a great one… if Tap'n Tempo had kick drum it would be nice… and I like how on the other metronome the hot keys are easier… I.E. + and - automatically jsut speed up or down… wish this one did this.

You are describing another app here but thank you for your review and feedback. I have added + or - keys in version 2.1, currently available to you for a free upgrade.

Hate it

For a simple metronome this thing is a pain. I use it with presonus fire studio and it works terrible with it. Anytime the computer goes to sleep it loses where the output is supposed to go. Frequently locks up with no audio output and requires a force shut down. Used a zillion different digital metronomes and I’ve tried to hang with this one for a couple months but it’s getting uninstalled.

When it works, it works just fine. Too buggy for me.

Thanks for the review. In the 5 years that have passed since that release, I have updated the audio settings so that they will reload when a device is added. All added devices are handled through core audio so if your device is there it should be accessible through the tools menu. I do advise that people add their devices prior to launching the app.

I am unsure of why your device is kicked off when the computer goes to sleep but I am addressing this problem in future updates of version 2.0

Swings to wildly

I use tamp tempo to figure out the tempo of a song I'm writing. Then I plug that into logic and start building drums and the song.

This program simply doesn't give anywhere near consistent numbers. I tap and tap and the # aren't very close at all.

I'm no rookie. A musician since 1979. I've used tons of metronomes etc. I think the problem is that it's not averaging the tempos. It's giving each one independantly or something. I don't know but all I can say is of all the metoronmes I have on my phone, ipad, and several physical this is the least useable one I've seen.

Need one for my mac when all those other devices are … nowhere to be found or handy.

Thank you for the review. In updates made after 1.0.3 I addressed this issue by averaging the tap values. However I found that to provide inaccurate results so in future updates of version 2 I will add the option to enable or disable averaging.
