One star until post game comes back
The history of streaming audio from CBS Sports has been a long and checkered one, starting with overblown CPU hogging Flash interfaces to payment systems that would refuse to reinstate your cancelled account at the start of the new season until you actually called their customer service on the phone. So an App Store solution is a welcome improvement. But boy, what an awkwardly designed app. Nitpicking ahead:
The audio gain is pretty weak - tried to plug external speakers into headphone port. Had to turn iPhone audio and speakers up to maximum, and it's still pretty weak. AirPlay support? Nope. And don't click on the audio/video tab while you're listening to the game, your audio will stop. And recently, post-game audio vanished. What happened?
On the other hand, I can now listen to the Heels over 3G wherever I want, don't have to tie up my browser with crashy Flash, and payment through Apple is a big improvement.
And I'm sure it's a licensing thing, but it would be great if post-season games were available, but they never have been.
Awful App Where Is the Feed for Tournament Games.
Tar Heel Sports Network is still broadcasting, so why is the app not carrying streaming audio for NCAA Tournament Games. I've finally cancelled my subscription. I hope UNC can partner with a company that cares enough to run their app correctly. CBS Sports is atrocious.
The app is a Complete waste of money. Streaming audio works intermittently or not at all. CBS and UNC need to fix this thing. Or UNC should partner with a developer that cares about customer service.
Great App!
All tarheel fans should have it.
