It is very good reading in Spanish, if you change the voice (Diego I this is from Spain). I can change from PDF to Text reader without problems. BUT it doesn´t have a pause button, this is if I have 20 pages and if I have to do something unexpected, I press the STOP button and when I return and press PLAY again it starts from the beginning. It needs improvements and more voices.

Inexpensive but the same functionality comes free in Text Edit.

Its only real advantage over Text Edit is its ability to save sound file but that function does not work. When the save sound file function is implemented, Text Reader will be well worth buying, particularly for the occasional user.

As a text-to-speech reader, Text Reader is almost exactly like built-in text edit. It uses the system voices and the same built-in text-to-speech function. Unlike Text Edit, it does not open or save documents, so text must be pasted in, then copied and pasted into another application to save. It does print, though with no options such as page margins. It's only conveniences are 1. a button rather than menu command to start and stop reading and, 2. a button to open a custom pane for directly accessing the system prefs for voice and speed (without opening system prefs). This does mean that it changes those prefs globally. It claims to be able to generate and save sound files, but as far as I can tell, that feature does not work (OSX 10.6.7).

Soooophhhhhh ,
