Good general purpose text editor
This is a very good general purpose text editor. It works great as a replacement for the built-in TextEdit. There is only one complaint that I have, so please consider this before installing: it automatically associates *all* text files (HTML, C sources, TXT, log files, and even assembly source files, etc.) with itself.
Little by little I've had to return most of those to their original applications, since I wasn't expecting TextWrangler to take over my entire ASCII file needs.
Other than that, it works rather nicely and it is very easy to use.
Great Text Editor
I've used this app for years, and if you want to hand text files (not RTF), this is the perfect editor. Has great search, replace and other text processing features. Also has the ability to run unix scripts in the text editor. If you are doing serious programming Bare Bones' BBEdit is a better choice, but for most everyone else, this free app is a fantastic choice. Also, because it's free, you can put it on every computer you need to work on.
Great Editor for Python
I use Text Wrangler as an editor for the Python language. I absolute love how easy to use and especially easy READ.
