Description
The Sun now brings its thorough coverage of Gainesville and the University of Florida to the iPad. The Gainesville Sun iPad application combines the best of print and digital in a new, compact digital package.
Like our print newspaper, it's a relaxing, lean-back reading experience; you can browse through all our sections and finish with a feeling that you've read today's edition.
Like Gainesville.com, the app provides digital extras: breaking news throughout the day, blogs and additional photos in articles. Photo galleries and videos display full screen, taking advantage of the iPad's gorgeous high-resolution display. You can also adjust text size, mark your favorite articles for later reading, and share stories easily by e-mail or post to Facebook or Twitter.
Navigation is quick and easy: click to the next article or use the pop-up bar at the bottom of of our articles to swipe through all the headlines in the same section. It's a news-you-can-touch experience we think you'll enjoy.

Finally!
Been waiting a long time for this. Easy to navigate, makes reading the Sun a much more enjoyable experience than the digital edition. Now if it has the full content of the paper and more pictures to accompany each article it would be perfect!

A great start
This app is not as good as the paper itself (which I get daily), but it gives a good "flavor" of the local news. When you're away from home and you want to keep up on the latest local stories, this app gets that job done.
