The Playmatic is designed to keep kids entertained. It was inspired by Mason (3) and Charlie (10 months) who love to play with iPhones and iPads and hate to sit still in cars, grocery stores, and churches. The Playmatic keeps them entertained, and it will do the same for your kids.
Current The Playmatic has two levels, and more are coming soon. The first is called "Magic Wand". To play it, all a child has to do is tap or swipe at the screen. Each time they touch it, a colorful, magical poof and some sparkles appear, and a piano note plays. The sound can be turned off, of course, if it needs to be. Charlie, the 10 month-old, loves this game. He's super cute as he curiously pokes the screen with an outstretched finger in one moment, and then mashes it with his hand in the next. "Magic Wand" is perfect for the youngest kids.
The second level is called "Bubble Bath". Mason, the 3 year-old, loves this one best. To play this level all the child has to do is tap, touch, or swipe at the bubbles that come floating across the screen. Each bubble that gets touched pops with a satisfying sound (again, you can turn off the sounds if you need to). Mason loves to chase real bubbles whenever he gets the chance, and "Bubble Bath" gives him a quiet alternative for when he can't be outside.
At least three more levels will be added, each a bit more difficult than the last, so that The Playmatic can grow up with your kids.
A few more things you ought to know about The Playmatic:
- The graphics are beautiful. Just because it's meant for kids doesn't mean it can't be pretty.
- Adults will enjoy it too. Mason and Charlie's parents use it as the digital equivalent of stress balls. It can be quite calming!
- The levels are designed so that kids can't easily quit them on their own. To leave a level and return to the menu, you must shake the device and then tap on a sprocket icon. It's hard for kids to do that by accident, so they are less likely to get into parts of the phone where they can cause trouble. Mason, for example, can use the game without any adult supervision. Charlie can't get out of the levels, but he needs supervision to keep him from putting the iPhone/iPad in his mouth. :)
- The Playmatic keeps track of how many magic poofs you've made and how many bubbles you've popped. Eventually this will be integrated into the Game Center, and for now, it's a lot of fun to see your stats!

Great update
The best part is the score keeping. I hope to see the new levels soon.
Lame
Even for my baby this game is stupid and there are only 2 levels. I wish I could get a refund. Not worth my dollar.
Great App for Kids with ADD or ADHD!
I let a 4 yr old play with the app during church when he would not sit still. He has severe ADHD. Once he saw the bubbles he sat there for 30 min playing with it. I highly recommend this app for helping keep the kids settled!
