For users of all ages, this generative art and sound app immerses you in song-like audiovisual pieces called modes. When “playing” a mode, you both react to and create the music and graphics that you experience. Each mode is its own art generator, interactive toy, musical instrument, even performance tool depending on how you use it. Awesome interactive experience!
I'm a lover of the old version so was excited to see what you guys would come up with. This is awesome! The modes are all so different I just keep playing and playing, but my favorite by far Is cathedral. It's just a beautiful experience.
Fulfilling iPad's promise of interactivity with sound and image
Thicket sits comfortably at the intersection of visual art, sound art, and playtime. Those looking for a strategy or traditional game play may be disappointed, but others may find it to be a mesmerizing audio-visual toy. Thicket's shapes and sounds have their own agenda, indeed, but they happily and willfully respond to user interaction in fascinating, surprising, and sometimes intensely complicated ways. I have found it to be both a very pleasing absent-minded diversion at the end of a tedious day and an absorbing idea generator that stimulates creativity and sets me up quite nicely to go off on tangents in my own creative work. Bravo! Looking forward to expanding my collection of modes. I highly recommend Interval's other creations (Snowdrift, other Thicket versions, Falling Stars) as well.
Very Cool! Love this!
I was hesitant based on some of the reviews, but tried this anyway. SOOO glad I did! Very cool app and works well if you follow the instructions and turn off the gestures. Extra cool when using over Airplay!
