All the mixing can be done 100% visually, without any pre-cueing with headphones. The colored track waveforms are floating in the realm of the futuristic neon-glowing interface, along with the calculated beatmaps. It takes only a single tap in the beatmap zone to activate the "1-Tap Auto-Sync" feature, which will align the tracks perfectly.

Few glitches
This is a great app. It just have a little lag when touch I touch the screen and some lag switching between screens too. I hope this app keep updating for the better though and updates free this time

I am rewriting my review because I thought the update would fix the bug of when I play my imported songs to mix on my iPhone 3G, the sound cuts in and out. This app is unusable on my iPhone 3G but touch dj2 works flawlessly. I will just use touch dj 2 until the new iPhone comes out and I can upgrade and see how it works on the new device. Until this problem stops on my current iPhone or my phone upgrade correct this problem, I'm only rating 1star.
Touch DJ Evolution gets it wrong
Dear Amidio, you've got it wrong with this app.
I've been using premium mode on my iOS 4.3.3 iPhone 4 for many weeks, and I still can't mix with this app for 15 minutes without screwing things up.
To begin with, the biggest problem this app has is wrong BPM detection. It almost always gets BPM value wrong with my music. And this app can ONLY work well when BPM and waveform values are perfectly accurate. Of course, if you are mixing and you notice the detected BPM value is wrong, you can always disable sync and manually modify the pitch value to quickly correct the problem (supposing the detection error is minor, which is not always the case). But here comes the BIG problem: even though you can alter the pitch to correct the sync problem, it's EXTREMELY easy to hit the auto sync area by mistake when using the crossfader. And... guess what happens? Yup, it totally RUINS your mix.
That is the biggest flaw your app has. But don't worry, Amidio. You can easily correct it by including an option to completely disable auto mixing, or make it work ONLY when you tap AND hold the center area for 1 or 2 seconds. Alternatively, you can try reducing the auto mix area, to make it less easy to be hit by accident when using the crossfader or any other close buttons (they're a lot, including settings and play/pause).
More problems/suggestions:
- Many controls are not so intuitive. Example: I've pressed the grid up/down buttons MANY times by mistake thinking they were up/down jogs.
- Gain is sometimes insufficient. Please increase the range a little bit.
- Stuttering: when the analizer gets it wrong, you even get music stuttering sometimes.
- Skimming through a track is not easy. You have to pause first and then jump through the waveform.
- Bring zoom mode back. It was very useful in TDJ 2. You could easily jump through a playing track, and also see its complete waveform.
- Include an option to disable LP/HP filter. Sometimes you hit it by mistake. It also covers part of the waveform, difficulting its sight.
- Remembering pitch value on load: please, include this as an option. It was very useful in TDJ 2, specially when BPM detection was wrong.
- Option to totally disable auto-crossfader. Sometimes you double tap the crossfader by mistake. It ruins your mix.
- Time/Pitch switch remembering. I'll never use time stretching, so please make the app remember my preference.
- Play/pause button visibility. Please move or redesign it to be always accessible. Sometimes I want to EQ right before hitting play button.
- Option for totally disabling auto mix area. With that space you could safely make side waveforms tappable while playing music.
- Split mode: please bring it back, it was a very nice extra in TDJ 2.
Not thrilled
Nice design, but it's not very intuitive initially, and I kept somehow accidentally clicking on the "buy the premium version" - not sure how, so I felt like when I tapped around I never knew where I was going.
I HATE that the "screenshots" in the app store aren't screenshots at all. They're ads. Very deceptive I think.
Glad other seem to like this app, but I don't.
