The Mayo Clinic TransFuse Application for iPad is a scenario based clinical simulation tool for physicians and health care professionals. Mayo Clinic TransFuse educates clinicians about the physiologic implications of blood transfusion. The application queries the health care professional about the ideal laboratory or physiologic thresholds for blood transfusion. Users navigate through clinical scenarios choosing therapeutic options that may include transfusion. The educational nature of the application also provides users with a comparative score that takes into consideration the clinical decisions made by each specific user. Groups of users can also use the app to develop transfusion practice clinical consensus and decision support solutions.
