Description

***Voted Top 10 Augmented Reality Travel App by CNNGo.com***

***Featured by Apple - New & Noteworthy for 4 weeks***

Singapore Heritage Walking Tours is a free interactive, multimedia, walking city guide featuring four of Singapore’s best known areas: Little India, Chinatown, Arab Quarters (or Kampong Glam), and Boat Quay. Each walking tour is planned with a detailed map, photos, audio, and explanations of each point.

This app is designed to be self contained once downloaded so you don’t end up paying for expensive roaming charges. In fact, our application does not require you to have a wi-fi or data connection to view your location as you explore our walks.

With our self-guided walking tours, exploring Singapore is easy, fun, and enjoyed at your own pace.

Little India
India in the heart of Singapore. Learn about the rich and diverse culture of the Indian community in Singapore by walking down the streets of Little India. Visit a Hindu temple, taste authentic Indian cuisine or shop for antiques and jewelry.

Arab Quarters
Also known as Kampong Glam, this is one of Singapore’s most culturally rich areas because of it’s historical role as the seat of Malay royalty. There are two important mosques here, as well as shops and cafes that are reminiscent of an Egyptian souk.

Chinatown
This walk covers the Telok Ayer area. It is one of Singapore’s most lively and fascinating districts. It is here that the early immigrants from China first settled down and set up their secret societies, guilds, opium dens and temples.

Boat Quay
The story of modern Singapore begins in Boat Quay. This is where Stamford Raffles first landed and where trade on the river transformed the island from a sleepy fishing village into an international trading hub.

Features
- Location aware maps that show your position as you explore the walk
- Augmented reality functionality
- Audio of the walk so you can walk and listen to the commentary
- Jump to any point in the application instead of always starting from the beginning

Informative and Useful

The app seems to be informative and useful for the included walks in Singapore. I have visited Singapore twice in recent years and would have appreciated some of the nuggets of information contained in the app. I like the fact that I can use it offline and not pay roaming charges. I will definitely try it on my next trip to Singapore.
