Nice Set of Tools - Works Well
This is a great set of tools combining domain search, detailed ping, and whois data. I had a couple other apps I replaced with this one to reduce clutter. Well worth the price as it is done nicely and works well. To comment on a previous post... the favorites function is utilized through the availability search. After doing a search next to each domain name there is a heart which you can click to add the domain to your favorites. Only flaw is that once it is in your favorites you only get the whois data after clicking on it again. I wanted to be able to ping from my favorites, but have made this suggestion to the developer and hopefully we will get it in the next update. FYI - You can send your suggestions directly from the app using the big tab that says "suggestions".
Web Tools
Perhaps I'm trying to use this for the wrong functions, but I need an app that allows repeated hostname nslookups on client computers (not web servers) within a long domain name. Since I have the hostname, I'm looking for the IP, and then need to see if it can be pinged. Web Tools won't let me save any Favorites as they can't be "Visited" (the only action that can be taken after the initial lookup). There is also no default blank Lookup screen, it instead goes to the most recent previous lookup . So to do a new lookup in the same domain/WAN you have to click on the hostname at the top of the screen, then get the insertion point to the correct spot, delete and re-type the new hostname. Also really nice if the IP field was active and allowed you to ping from it. Even though these computers can be pinged, nothing shows up in Web Tools "Ping" field. Currently I have to use a Ping tool to see if the IP address can be pinged, or if it is just in the log as linked to that hostname.
Doesn't work
I hate when I PAY for an app that doesn't work. Gives an error cannot find server. Tried on 3 devices same result. Refund? Oh ya not with apple! Useless
